This Privacy Policy explains what information Pawpilot collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Pawpilot is built to be local-first: the desktop app and the in-browser playground keep your data on your device by default.

The short version

  • The Pawpilot desktop app sends no telemetry and no analytics. Your license is verified offline.
  • The in-browser playground stores your notes, reminders, and settings only in your own browser. They are never sent to us.
  • Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider and merchant of record. We never see or store your card details.
  • We keep only what is needed to deliver and support your license, and we do not sell personal data.

Information we collect

We aim to collect as little as possible. The information involved falls into a few categories:

  • Purchase and license data. When you buy Pawpilot ($3.90, one time), our payment provider Lemon Squeezy processes the transaction and shares with us the details needed to deliver and support your license — typically your email address and order information. Payment card data is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy and its processors; it never reaches our servers.
  • Support communications. If you email us, we receive the contents of your message and your email address so we can reply.
  • Website logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for a short period to keep the site secure and reliable.

The desktop app

The Pawpilot desktop app is designed to stay on your machine. It sends no telemetry and no usage analytics. Some motions react to the timing of your keystrokes (never their content) — this is read locally to drive animations and is never logged, stored, or transmitted. Your license key is verified offline against an embedded public key. The optional agent integration runs on a local listener (127.0.0.1) and does not leave your computer.

The in-browser playground

The playground at pawpilot.space/playground runs entirely in your browser. Your sticky notes, reminders, pet settings, mascot, and coat are saved in your browser's local storage (under pawpilot:* keys) and are never transmitted to us. Sounds are generated locally in your browser. The agent demo endpoint is same-origin and is used only to animate the pet — it is not a data collection channel.

Cookies and analytics

We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Browser local storage is used only to remember your preferences and your playground data on your own device. If we introduce privacy-respecting analytics in the future, we will update this policy first.

How we use information

  • To deliver, restore, and verify your license.
  • To respond to your support requests.
  • To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or security issues.
  • To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Sharing and processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers needed to run Pawpilot:

  • Lemon Squeezy — checkout, payments, tax handling, and license-delivery email (see Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy).
  • Our hosting and email providers — to serve this website and send transactional messages such as your license key.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Pawpilot and its users.

Data retention

We keep purchase and license records for as long as needed to support your license and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. You may ask us to delete information that we are not required to keep.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA). To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@pawpilot.space and we will respond within a reasonable time.

International transfers

Pawpilot is offered worldwide. Where information is processed in a country other than your own, we rely on our service providers' safeguards for any such transfers.

Children

Pawpilot is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age required to form a binding contract in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
